The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance puts Margate at about 9 square miles and lists Northwest Medical Center, Broward County Public Schools, the City of Margate, Walmart, JM Lexus, AutoNation and Publix among its major employers. The city says groundbreaking could come as early as 2027. The CRA also offers commercial property improvement grants and a new-business incentive grant.
